Three Sundays in October 2026 will host gatherings in three Pyrenean valleys bringing together residents, craftspeople, herders, and artists to discuss the future of Pyrenean pastoralism. The initiative is supported by the European POCTEFA project and aims to explore this living heritage through performances, artistic presentations, and discussions about transmission and reinvention of pastoral traditions in response to territorial and climate changes.
The first day of the pastoralisme event took place in the Val d'Azun in the community hall of Aucun on October 4, 2026. The program included a participatory theatrical reading by La Diagonale company titled 'Pastorale, chronique d'un métier vivant', a roundtable discussion among professionals and farmers on the future of pastoral agriculture and new herder installations, and a performance by artist Natacha Sansoz on béret making and Pyrenean traditional craftsmanship.
